One of the most important things I’ve learned about growing a business is this: Put people in the right lane. It sounds simple, but it makes a huge difference. People do their best work when they’re doing what they’re good at and what they enjoy. When they’re stuck doing things they don’t like—or aren’t great at—it just doesn’t work.

Think about it like this: If you put a race car on a dirt road, it’s not going to go fast. It’s the same with people. If they’re not in the right role, they can’t do their best. That’s why it’s so important to free people from tasks that aren’t in their skill set. Let them focus on what they’re good at.

Even if you find someone who’s good at a lot of things, that doesn’t mean they should do everything. That just leads to burnout. Personally, I know I’m really good at maybe 10-20% of tasks. The rest? Not so much. So, I focus on what I do well and get others to handle the rest.

That’s what leverage is all about. It’s not just about having good people—it’s about putting them in the right place. When everyone’s in their lane, they’re happier, more productive, and the whole business runs smoother. That’s how you grow.
